Welcome Ananda (and Anne - I missed your joining, sorry). Glad to have you around. Feel free to putter! Let me know if you have a desire to become a manager, or if you see anything that we can improve or add (that you don't improve or add yourself). Cheers!

@Kristen Lans: Thanks for the heads-up. It works now on my Safari and Chrome. :)

Hi Bob, I'm not sure who gets it, but I just sent a second note to error@eol.org about a browser issue I'm having. I use multiple browsers and I'm finding that I can only access eol _at all_ (even the front page) with one browser at a time. Not one instance of a browser, but one "Brand" - I'm using Chrome here, but my Safari only gets the oops page. Last week, the opposite was true. :( I thought the product guy should hear about it, in case that doesn't go to you. :)

@Leo Shapiro: Thanks for the note, Leo. I'm planning to help more there. I'm actually finding the photo work very relaxing in my evenings right now, but the articles will be coming. I keep them in mind whenever I'm looking for something else, too.

@Bob Corrigan: I try to reserve that comment "unsure of usefulness" for very few things - I realize we may never know the full range of usefulness of EoL as a resource (and I have a LOT of things I can see it being useful for!). I think this is my closest call of those. I would have no problem having someone come back and unhide it because they honestly thought it would be useful.

@Cyndy Parr: in the newsfeed view of a profile page (mine at least), under the posting box, there's a grayish bar. On the bar there are "Newsfeed" and "Comments" buttons, and then a "Show" drop-down menu. One of the choices is "Community". That's the view I meant.

The shape and coloration of this bird is very much mallard rather than ring-necked duck. If someone can identify otherwise, feel free.

Robert Hole, Jr commented on "EOL Discussion Group":

I just have to put my $0.02 in on the new newsfeed configuration.I can no longer differentiate between my comments on taxa and comments from others in the communities I belong to (like this one), and this makes me sad. It means I have to wander through all of my communities a couple times a day to find any comments left in reply to me, and it means I probably will miss any comments left on objects curated (since I'm a rather busy beaver). My "community" choice shows nothing happening - which may be the problem). The old sort parameters between newsfeed and activities had fewer options but seemed more useful, at least from my standpoint.
