@Thomas Karrer: Well, the advantage of iNaturalist is that each photo becomes a good record of an occurrence -- something that people might map and use for science. It also has lots of nice features specific to people who are observing nature, including other people who will help confirm identifications, and it is totally free. The disadvantage (an advantage in other contexts) is that your image won't be shared with EOL unless it is confirmed by another iNaturalist user. If there are no other experts on iNaturalist familiar with organisms in your area that could be a problem. So you might want to try using Flickr. One disadvantage of Flickr is that if you have a lot of images you may run out of space on the free account and have to pay for a Pro account (which, I will tell you, is worth the relatively low price each year). One good thing is that photos on Flickr can be easily shared with iNaturalist so if you start with Flickr you could move to iNaturalist.

Do we have any curators qualified to trust or untrust images of lilies? There are some very good unreviewed photos here but I can't be sure of the identifications http://eol.org/pages/45417/worklist

@Paul Bedell: You can tweak this yourself. As a curator, you can click on the Names tab and select show all classifications. Then select the classification with the name you wish to display at the top of the page.

On EOL when I go to Xylophagus cinctus, it takes me to X. abdominalis. But on ITIS, X. abdominalis is invalid, and should be synomyized with cinctus. http://www.itis.gov/servlet/SingleRpt/SingleRpt?search_topic=TSN&search_value=130114

Thanks Katja. I'll monitor things. I realize it is a LOT of content to deal with. I'm still very interested in helping out when I can. Rob :o)

@Rob Mutch: Hi Rob, there may have been a problem with the last YouTube harvest. We'll look into it. Most likely the videos will come back on board without you having to do anything. I don't think a lot of curators review videos. Most focus on text or images, and we still have some capacity building to do for the videos. Keep in mind that EOL has over 400,000 unreviewed data objects, so it may take a while for a curator to bump into any particular piece of content.

It appears all my videos have been "kicked out" of their respective EOL species pages once again. The first time this happened I had to make some coding change to the videos on Youtube (where they are hosted). Do I need to do this again? To be honest this is dampening my enthusiasm for content donation to EOL. I'm a professional nature photographer, so, my videos are not poor quality. And, they are not being reviewed as trusted. Why? Perhaps, I'm not making my copyright/ownership of the videos clear? Hmmm... I LOVE the EOL meme and E. O. Wilson. Rob :o)

@Jamie McMillan: Hi Jamie, You mentioned that your "photo has been imported into a taxon with the same error..." It would be good for us to know which taxon you are referring to, so we can try to get the error fixed. Can you please provide a link to the page with the bad taxon name? Thanks!

@Robert Guralnick: Hello Robert, I work with biodiversity surveys in Venezuela, we have data for birds, butterflies and dung beetles that come from compilations of literature records and national scale field surveys. I took a look at the Map of Life, and it looks like a good opportunity to share our data, how do I contact the data manager(s)?

@Jamie McMillan: You can do this at the source, if it is on Flickr, since it is your own photo. The correction will come through to EOL with the next harvest.

I got a species name wrong and my photo has been imported into a taxon with the same error. I want to edit my own photos in this (the name) and take them out of the wrongly-named taxon. How do I do this?
