@Kelly O'Donnell: Hey, Kelly, Seena- the LifeDesk mail isn't hiding in your spam filters, by any chance?

@Kelly O'Donnell: @Kelly & Jen.. Same problem for me. Did not get an e-mail response after creating LifeDesk.

@Eli Sarnat: Eli: Sorry I missed your original question to me. I'm one of two admins for the African ichthyology scratchpad "Africhthy" at http://africhthy.org. We are still in Scratchpad 1.0 format. Not sure when we are getting ported over, but we've created a pretty complex Scratchpad, so it will be interesting to see how it all works in v.2. I am also interested to know when it will be possible to port my momryid LifeDesk (http://mormyrids.lifedesks.org) to a Scratchpad. There remain a lot of things I like about the LifeDesk platform that I hope don't get lost in the eventual transition. I am hoping eventually to incorporate everything in my LifeDesk into my version 2.0 Scratchpad (which includes all species of African freshwater fishes, not just Mormyridae). It will be interesting to see when/if this can be done successfully!

@Gonçalo Themudo: We've got lots of pages for hybrids in plants, and a few in animals, e.g., Anas platyrhynchos x Cairina moschata, Samia cynthia ricini x Bombyx mori, Ateles paniscus x Ateles fusciceps. Let me know if you want me to create a T. marmoratus x T. cristatus page, so you can move the image there. It would take a couple of days to show up on EOL. Once it is up, you could untrust the Triturus blasii association and add the association with the new Ateles paniscus x Ateles fusciceps page.

@Katja Schulz: Sorry, Katja. My mistake, I meant to say that T. blasii is supposed to be T. marmoratus X T. cristatus. As T. carnifex used to be T. cristatus carnifex, I am not sure if T. blasii could have been used at some point to describe hybrids between any marbled newt (T. marmoratus and T. pygmaeus) and any crested newt (T. cristatus, carnifex, dobrogicus and karelinii) but only marmoratus and cristatus meet naturally.

Triturus marmoratus x Triturus pygmaeus? Now i'm confused. In the image description, it actually says that this individual is a hybrid between T. carnifex and T. marmoratus marmoratus.

Gonçalo Themudo commented on "EOL Discussion Group":

Well, if there are other pages for hybrids, I would move the page to "Triturus marmoratus x Triturus pygmaeus". I can write a short description. Otherwise, perhaps just move the image to both the parent taxa.

@Gonçalo Themudo: This is an interesting problem. It looks like we have this page only because we get this one image from Calphotos for the name "Triturus blasii." What do you think should happen to this image? We could create a new EOL taxon page for the hybrid "Triturus marmoratus x Triturus cristatus" and get rid of the Triturus blasii page? Or we could keep the Triturus blasii page, and you could add a Brief Summary explaining that this is a hybrid, rather than a separate species. We could also get rid of the Triturus blasii page and attach the image of the hybrid to both of the parent taxa, along with an explanation that the image represents a hybrid. What do you think?

What to do with http://eol.org/pages/6995275/overview ? The page refers to a name of what was once thought to be a different species, but is in fact merely hybrids of Triturus marmoratus and Triturus cristatus.

Hello fellow Fellows! My project starts up in a month and I'm going through some set up now. Has anyone had a problem with LifeDesk in the past few days? I haven't gotten an activation email or a response to a question. I even tried using the tell a friend fields to see if I would get any email and that didn't work either. I'm using Firefox and Safari. Has anyone else run into trouble?

@Michael Wunderli: Michael, if you edit your profile and request curator status (either assistant or full), you will be able to add common names to the Names tab of any page. Thanks for offering to help!

Hallo Thank you again for letting the harvester run for me! it worked great, but i have a questions. For most plants in my collection, EOL doesn't show the german common name. Even though the data is present in the harvested website. Is there a way to change that. Or how can I add german names to the eol database? Thank you for your time and efforts! Michael
