@Tom Brodowski: The only country reported in FishBase where this French name was used is in a book on fishes from Mauritania. The mostly used French name is 'espadon' followed by "poisson-épée'. The name 'porte-épée' or 'poisson porte-epee' refers mostly to a small aquarium killifish, Xiphophorus helleri, and other species of the same genus whose Greek rooted scientific name means exactly that: carrying a sword. See the etymology in the species summary page of FishBase.
FishBase Information and Research Group, Inc. (FIN) commented on "Trypauchenichthys":
Dear Gianluca, FishBase and Catalog of Fishes have currently correctly the 3 species, and EoL seems ok then. Anything you want us to do? Regards. Nicolas Bailly, FishBase
