Chris Walker commented on Chris Walker's newsfeed:
Similar problem with Rhizophagus. Besides being an arbuscular mycorrhizal fungus, the name is valid for a genus of wood-boring beetles. Nice pictures of the beetles, but they are in the wrong Kingdom's pages.

Chris Walker marked the classification from "Index Fungorum" as preferred for "Sclerocystis Berkeley and Broome, 1873".
We have a marine shellfish Glomus nitens in the fungal (Glomeromycota) page for Glomus. I am not sure how to get these images moved to their correct Kingdom's pages.
Chris Walker commented on an older version of Glomus macrocarpum LECTOTYPE sporocarp fragments:
The Tulasne brothers never knew that this was a mycorrhizal fungus. The link with these fungi and mycorrhizas was not understood until the 1950s

Amazing to think this was collected in the middle of the 19th Century!
