@Marie Studer: Thanks Marie (and Cyndy) for your responses. That's great news that things may be in the works in the future. Good luck on that front! We'll definitely keep an eye on things.

@Jeremy McWilliams: Hi Jeremy, Cyndy's correct that a write API is on our development list, but it won't be ready to use for the Education Challenge. It could allow more interactivity with EOL, which we hope to foster through a number of tools and features, and, hopefully some new ideas that will come out of the EOL Education Innovation Challenge.

@Jeremy McWilliams: Good question, Jeremy. I know that a write API has been on our list of things to work on and I'm sure your input will be helpful. But I suspect it won't be possible in time for this challenge. You may have wanted to leave this message in the EOL Education Innovation Challenge community -- not sure that's where you left it so I'll make sure that relevant folks see your question.

Are the current API methods more or less set in stone....or are there any in the works? It'd be pretty cool if there was the ability to have some "write" methods, like 'adding an item to a collection', 'create/join a community', etc. That could really open up the possibilities for what could be done with this challenge, and just in general....though I know this would require user authentication, which probably isn't trivial on EOL's end.
