About me

I have a broad background in molecular ecology and molecular taxonomy. From 2009 to 2012, I was the manager of the Pollinators campaign for the International Barcode of Life (iBOL) project, based at the Biodiversity Institute of Ontario. I'm interested in applications of DNA barcoding to biodiversity research, with a special focus on aculeate Hymenoptera (ants, bees, and stinging wasps). I've also worked on endosymbiont diversity in insect host communities, and have a continued interest in how symbiotic microorganisms affect measures of host biodiversity.
