Hi Eli, I have been using a Scratchpad - Bryozoa of the British Isles - to contribute to EOL during my fellowship. There were a few teething problems, but I am happy with the scratchpad platform now. They are due to release version 2 in January, with several new features. If you have any specific questions about building a scratchpad I would be very happy to help.
