If anyone else is scanning in text from documents like I am, you may find this trick useful to help clean up those many extra paragraphs that always get added in. In MS word you can just 'search and replace' them out because '^p' means paragraph. Heres a post I found online explaining it, and how to avoid deleting 'true' paragraphs: Assuming each line has a para mark at the end, and that there is an empty line (or a line with just a space) with a para mark separating true paras: First: Do a Search&Replace to replace all para marks (^p) with a pair of tildes (~~), or some other character combination that isn't found in the document. Second: Do a Search&Replace to replace every occurrence of a pair of tildes followed by a space, followed by a pair of tildes (~~ ~~) with a para mark (^p) Third: Do a Search&Replace to replace every occurrence of a pair of tildes followed by another pair of tildes (~~~~) with a para mark (^p) Fourth: Do a Search&Replace to replace every occurrence of a pair of tildes followed (~~) with a single space ( ) Fifth: Do a Search&Replace to replace every occurrence of a pair of spaces followed ( ) with a single space ( ). Repeat until none is found.

Nathan Muchhala commented on an older version of Burmeistera:

105 species of Burmeistera have been described. Some authors consider it a member of family Lobeliaceae, while most treat Lobeliodeae as a subfamily of Campanulaceae.

Nathan Muchhala commented on an older version of am5503:

The inflated fruit of B. vulgaris. Like various other species of Burmeistera, this fruit is filled with air (rather than solid/fleshy), with thousands of tiny seeds around a ball of tissue in the center.
