@Deniz Martinez: I think it would be better to downrate them with one star which will put them towards the end of media collections. These photos may still be useful for some purposes, so we probably would not want to remove them from public view entirely.

I have a question...if there are enough good quality photos of a species alive and well, is it ok to hide photos of them as roadkill? :/ Thanks, Deniz

As a member of this group of sites, which are a major part of the Online Resources for Odonata, I received the following email from the site owner about changes to the sites and heir merger into one site. They are keen to receive feedback on the proposed new site. "I would like to invite you to look at our new site http://www.allodonata.com/ that will consolidate (and replace) all the *-dragonfly.net sites. Yes, this new site clearly aims to be the best worldwide photo gallery of all odonata! The site is in test mode (please do NOT upload photos): do not hesitate to 'play' with it and please give your feedback. Some novelties: - you can rate the photos. Then you can sort the photos by rating. Log in and give stars! - Google map display the countries (with number of photos) and let you quickly select them. Click on "Territory", select on the map and click "Apply filter" - a search box to filter photos (read the help page first: http://www.allodonata.com/help ) - scroll down and new photos are added to the page i.e. navigation arrows are optional - Click on 'Filters' and 'Order by ...' to define your query Please let me know what you think of this new site on both content and appearance! Best regards, Eric"

@Yan Wong: That's really strange. I have added the common name "herrings" to the Clupea page. That should put this page at the top of the search results list. I have also added a redirect that sends people directly to this page, so they don't have to deal with all the species described by various Herrings.

@Andrew Brower: Hi Andy, have you tried the curator worklist? Look for the Worklist tab on any EOL taxon page. There are a bunch of content filters available at the top of the page to customize the things you see in the list.

Hi all, Is there any way to bulk-curate multiple images of the same thing? I am looking at an entire page of photos of monarch butterfly overwintering colonies. It is obvious from the thumbnails that that's what they are, and it is very time-consuming to open and trust each of them individually. AB

Not sure what can be done about this, but I imagine a search for "herring" should give Atlantic Herring somewhere high up? http://eol.org/search?q=herring&search=Go

@Michаel Frаnkis: Thanks Michael, this should be fixed now. The problem was due to the fact that Cornutia pyramidata has a bunch of synonyms in the genus Hosta Jacq.: http://www.theplantlist.org/tpl1.1/record/kew-47586

Cornutia (Lamiaceae) images are also appearing incorrectly on the Hosta (Asparagaceae) page. Can they be disassociated, please?

Katja Schulz commented on "EOL Curators":

@Michаel Frаnkis: It looks like this field has the wrong display label. It should say "Location" rather than "Location Created." The problem is on our end, not CalPhotos. They are using a field that comes with the following description: "Natural language description of the locality where the resource was collected or created..." We do need a generic field like this because many collections don't discriminate between these two options, i.e., their "location" data are a mixture of information about where a resource was created and where a specimen was collected or even where its native range is. This is unfortunate, but it's a reality. I'll ask for that label to be changed.
