    Bob Corrigan commented on "Leptograpsus":

@Roderic Page: We're choosing to address the issue of data quality through a combination of efforts: better interfaces to help diagnose issues, improved curation tools, and more dialog with our data sources to share EOL comments with them. Notwithstanding obvious errors such as you reported, what is "trusted" today may become "untrusted" tomorrow as the state of knowledge improves or better articles are presented, so "trusted-ness" in EOL is a combination of a) quality sources plus b) active curation plus c) a platform that is sufficiently transparent to expose issues where they exist (and enable them to be fixed without coding).

There are a lot of questions in your post - let's start by acknowledging that we're aggregating something incorrectly, and we're going to take a look at it at a systems level. I'll ask Cyndy and/or Katja to give feedback on curation protocols, because we have facilities for adding and removing associations for photos.

Could we safely refer to these as "Stick insects"?

Curiously, we also have a page for the correct spelling.

Bob Corrigan commented on "Euphorbia amygdaloides subsp. robbiae":

@Lysbeth Hirsch: Does she have a good picture of it? It would be a nice addition to EOL. I'm also curious if there's a common name for this that we could put on the site. . .?

Bob Corrigan commented on an older version of Range and Habitat in Illinois:

@Katja Schulz: How about a curator-set flag that calls out whether an article is "global" or "regional" in scope? We could highlight the results of that flag in the header of the article. I agree with Katja, this is a presentation issue, not a data issue, so I'd like to come up with something that gets curators involved yet also takes the content as it was offered.

By the way, your website is marvelous! Thank you for sharing it with us - perhaps we can find a way to share some of your other photos on EOL, with links back to your site.

Thank you! In order to post it to EOL we will need to know what Creative Commons license you wish to assign to it. Then we can upload it, or you could upload it to the EOL group on Flickr. Let us know what you'd prefer.

@ZaraWoodrow: Hi Zara, I added that name to the taxon page in Spanish. If you go to the Names > Common Names tab, you'll see the other Spanish name we have.

Bob Corrigan commented on "Puffinus auricularis":

@Isabelle Phan: Fair enough, but often EOL users will craft a brief description and cite relevant resources rather than just leave links. That said, we're working on a new object type called "links" that would make it easier for you to provide those resources in a way that would make the collectable, curateable, rankable, etc.
