Bob Corrigan commented on "Tick - Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia":
@Michael Wunderli: As far as I can tell the taxonomy is a bit confusing here, but can you recommend an alternative article for "ticks" for the higher-level taxon page it would be associated with? Thanks

Bob Corrigan commented on "Featured Creatures - Bed Bug - Cimex lectularius Linnaeus":
Thanks to Jennifer L. Gillett-Kaufman for introducing us to the Featured Creatures website.

Bob Corrigan commented on "PIC_RJS_24_DSCN4278":
Needs curator help. Too much going on in this photo. Recommend hiding it.

Bob Corrigan commented on "PIC_RJS_24_DSCN4278":
Could be there are so many taxa in this photo it's just not a good representation of B. catharticus...

Bob Corrigan commented on "Brief Summary":
Tom - thanks for your contribution - you're almost there! And it's worth noting that Cyndy (EOL's chief scientist) is a bird person :) So you can trust her to give good advice.

Bob Corrigan commented on "Equisetum hyemale ssp. affine (Equisetaceae) - unspecified - unspecified":
@Steve Baskauf: Steve, Jason should get an email notifying him of your question; I look forward to your dialog here on EOL.

Bob Corrigan commented on "Rhizostoma luteum (Quoy and Gaimard, 1827)":
Can someone scare up a common name for this monster?
-
Bob Corrigan commented on "Amaranthus tricolor L.":
There are low-rated photos that seem OK - and they are not seeds (the least-useful of all exemplar choices). Can a curator take a look at these to see if there is a better option? Thanks.

Bob Corrigan commented on an older version of Honey badger:
@Leo Shapiro: I'm wondering if the very brief summary would be a better fit for the overview tab than the whole long WP article.

Bob Corrigan commented on "Pygoscelis adelia - Adelie penguins on Adelaide Island":
@Michаel Frаnkis: I like the composition and the subject, and it took some doing to be there to capture it. There's room in EOL for all kinds of contributions.

Armin Rose, this is one fabulous photo. Great shot.

Bob Corrigan commented on "Tripneustes gratilla elatensis Dafni, 1983":
@Jacob Dafni: It would be great to have you as an EOL Curator, Jacob - thank you in advance!
-
Bob Corrigan commented on "Oesophagostomum":
Leo, can you add a common name to this genus? Thanks
-
Bob Corrigan commented on "Mycena aurantiomarginata (Fr.) Quél. 1872":
@Hans-Martin Braun: Terrific! Take a look at this page: http://eol.org/info/curators - then drop me an email at bcorrigan@eol.org when you're ready to start.

Bob Corrigan commented on "Mycena aurantiomarginata (Fr.) Quél. 1872":
@Hans-Martin Braun: Just saw your comment here, thanks for your feedback on this taxon as well. If you'd like credentials to be able to add these names on your own, let me know and I can walk you through the process.
-
Bob Corrigan commented on "Tenellia adspersa (Nordmann, 1845)":
@Hans-Martin Braun: Fixed - thanks for letting us know. On a related note, I'm thinking about ways to acknowledge and thank contributors to EOL at both an organizational and individual level, if I could test some ideas with you, let me know.

Bob Corrigan commented on "004":
@Newton Filho: Hi Newton, I've changed the association of the picture from D. marsupialis to D. virginiana as you've indicated. And you're right, it sure is a beauty.

Bob Corrigan commented on "Distribution":
@Hartwig Dell'mour: Hi Hartwig, I've looked at other sites and I've discovered "Husab Sand Lizard" as an other common name for this taxon, but without a description of why it was so named. Accordingly I've changed the English vernacular name for this taxon to Husab Lizard, while leaving the other vernacular name in the system as a reference.
