Steve Haddock commented on "Molecular Biology":
what is the easiest way to edit these mini-articles? There are lots of molecular studies now, including at least two genomes.
-
Steve Haddock commented on "Ctenophora":
Strangely enough, this looks like Aulacoctena, but it is hard to see if there are any tentacles.
-
Steve Haddock commented on "Top view - whole animal":
How do we mark it so genus Ctenophora doesn't show up in the pages for Phylum Ctenophora? I don't want to untrust it, but would like to remove those associations, in bulk.
-
Steve Haddock commented on "Beroe cucumis after eating a red ctenophore (note mouth visible on right)":
@Katja Schulz: This is B. cucumis not B. forskalii. Look at the canals.
-
Steve Haddock commented on "Image of Mertensia ovum":
The photographer is Kevin Raskoff, not Russ Hopcroft.
-
Steve Haddock commented on an older version of Beroe forskalii with iridescent (not bioluminescent) comb rows (bioluminescence in Beroe does not come from comb rows):
Not B. forskalii
-
Steve Haddock commented on an older version of Beroe forskalii after eating a red ctenophore (note mouth visible on right):
Beroe cucumis

Steve Haddock commented on an older version of Beroe forskalii after eating a red ctenophore (note mouth visible on right):
Also not B. forskalii, but B. cucumis
-
Steve Haddock commented on an older version of Beroe forskalii with iridescent (not bioluminescent) comb rows (bioluminescence in Beroe does not come from comb rows):
This is Beroe cucumis, not B. forskalii
-
Steve Haddock commented on "Image of Agalma elegans":
Where is the siphonophore in this photo? Misleading.
-
Steve Haddock commented on an older version of Dwarf male of Tremoctopus violaceus holding siphonophore tentacles in its suckers:
Hmm... holding, or being stung by?
-
Steve Haddock commented on an older version of Cranefly (diptera):
Does not belong in the phylum Ctenophora
-
Steve Haddock commented on an older version of bluebells and bee:
Mertensia is a genus of plants and ctenophores. How to remove from this collection?
-
Steve Haddock commented on "File:LightRefractsOf comb-rows of ctenophore Mertensia ovum.jpg":
Appears twice? Not public domain. Should have attribution.
-
Steve Haddock commented on "File:Ctenophora pectinicornis bl.jpg":
How do we distinguish the genus from the phylum?
-
Steve Haddock commented on "Image of Mertensia":
Please remove from ctenophores -- not sure how to correct homonyms
-
Steve Haddock commented on "Pleurobrachia pileus":
This picture appears twice in the collection?
-
Steve Haddock commented on "Image of Ocyropsis maculata":
This is an interesting photo, but it shows a polarization image of the muscle fibers from the comb jelly, so it is difficult to interpret.
-
Steve Haddock commented on an older version of Slabber (1778, plaat 7):
The picture shows the remains of a damaged ctenophore on the bottom half of the panel, and a polychaete on the top half of the panel. Refer to other images for a better idea of what a ctenophore looks like.
