This is a walking stick, not a mantid. It looks like an Extatosoma, but those are native to Australia & New Guinea, not Madagascar.

Hi Paco. Can you provide a source for this description? Also, if you add information about your curation scope and credentials to your account profile, I will upgrade your account to full curator status, so your contributions will be trusted automatically.

Katja Schulz commented on "Image of Gaertnera vaginata":

Thanks for letting us know about this. Andersonia vaginata is a synonym of Gaertnera vaginata, and Andersonia is both a plant and a fish genus. The two genera were mixed up in our names infrastructure. They're separated now, and there are no more plants in the Andersonia fish collections.

    Katja Schulz commented on "File:Succisa pratensis&Inachis io2005 14.jpg":

The source of this image calls it Inachis io, so that's why you see this name on this page. However, when you click through to the species page, you'll see that the preferred name for this species on EOL is Aglais io. As a curator, you can set the preferred hierarchy for each taxon in the Names tab, and the taxon name used in that hierarchy will be the official taxon name for this EOL page.

Katja Schulz commented on an older version of European Peacock:

We don't change the names we get from our sources, but you can set the preferred name, which is the one that shows up at the top of the EOL page, by selecting a preferred classification in the names tab: http://eol.org/pages/160164/names

Photographer notified us that this is Senna pilosior, not Senna durangensis. ID should update with the next CalPhotos harvest.

    Katja Schulz commented on "Pieris":

This is an incorrect hierarchy from ispot. It puts a butterfly genus in the plant family Ericaceae.

Note that there is no point in copying Wikipedia articles for species. We already import these automatically.

Katja Schulz commented on an older version of Giant reef worm (Eunice aphroditois):

The flies and worms are now separated, so this image should automatically show up in the correct collection.

There was some confusion between the polychaete Eunice and the butterfly Eunica. Should be fixed now.

Katja Schulz commented on an older version of PA_Papilio_thoas:

Image data are correct. Incorrect placement in Nymphalidae is due to an error in a Wikimedia Commons hierarchy. This has already been fixed at the source, but it will take a few days for the EOL index to update.
