Katja Schulz commented on "Brief Summary":

Note that Indricotheriinae is a subfamily, not a single species. The species treated in the linked article is Paraceratherium transouralicum.

Katja Schulz commented on "What are Click Beetles?":

Elateroidea is a superfamily that contains many families, not just click beetles. Also, you misspelled the family name. It's Elateridae, not Elateroidae.

Katja Schulz commented on "Image of Lithobates clamitans":

Thanks Everett. The ID should automatically update with our next iNaturalist harvest, which should happen very soon. The iNaturalist data get reloaded on a weekly basis, and any corrections made in the image metadata will transfer to EOL within a week.

Katja Schulz commented on "Xysticus; Hymenoptera":

I thought we had fixed this problem. It was due to an incorrect hierarchy from Wikipedia that put all Hymenoptera in Diplopoda. The hierarchies are now fixed, but it appears that the Diplopoda media collection has not been reindexed. I have requested this to be done manually.

    @Nick Durmuller:

Hi Nick, yes, you need to be a curator to add common names. Instructions on how to register are at the bottom of this page: http://eol.org/curators Instruction for adding common names and other curator activities are here: http://eol.org/info/curation

The best way to add a link to a page is through the "add a link" button in the Detail tab. The link will then show up in the Resources tab and in the Updates column on the Overview tab. Let me know if you encounter any problems.

    Katja Schulz commented on "Amblycerus":

Amblycerus is a bruchid (now in Chrysomelidae), not an anthribid or curculionid.

Katja Schulz commented on an older version of Peziza succosa:

I would be surprised if that edit got reverted, but you never know. Another thing you can do is add an article directly on EOL providing the correct information. To do this, go to the Detail tab of the relevant page and look for the "add an article" button in the top right corner. Nobody can change your text on EOL, but curators could hide it if there was a problem.

Katja Schulz commented on an older version of Peziza succosa:

Thanks, since this is a Wikipedia article, anybody can easily fix such errors. I have revised the source article: https://en.wikipedia.org/w/index.php?title=Peziza_succosa&oldid=613299312 The updated version will be imported to EOL with our next Wikipedia harvest which should happen in a couple of days.

Something funky going on here. GloBi creates taxon No:match. Interacts with over 800 taxa.

Katja Schulz commented on an older version of smoky brown woodpecker info from wikipedia:

As an assistant curator, you can make Wikipedia articles you find in the Detail tab visible in the Overview. Just click on the show in Overview link at the bottom of the article.

Katja Schulz commented on "Subsequent misspelling":

Pareucephalacris luridicrus & Pareucephalacris ludicrus are now merged. You may want to edit your text to indicate that you are talking about Pareucephalacris ludicrus here. Also, this should be under Taxonomy, not Brief Summary. Thanks!
