Hey all, have you seen the stats on the home page? We've crossed the million mark for both pages and images. Still keeping fingers crossed that we don't lose some of these in cyberspace.

Stijn, you will want to include HTML with that link in the description to make sure it is clickable. Your comments above probably belong in the Details tab in an article with the subject of "Taxonomy". Currently your comments are on this image which isn't actually published yet. If you use "Add an article" you can also add the reference and it will be shown on the references tab.

    Cyndy Parr commented on "MUBARAK":

According to Wikipedia), here's how you can tell the difference:

The male is slender, and the blue line is straighter. The female is rounder, producing a bent blue line. Some say that the females look plumper when viewed from above but this is disputed. However, the 'straightness' of the line and the plumpness of the female might occasionally be due to the eggs she is carrying.

However, this has not yet been reviewed by an expert so I can't guarantee its accuracy.

Cyndy Parr commented on "Diogo Provete":

Thanks for your additions, Diogo. If you go to the "Details" tab you can add an article and provide at least an overview of these species. If you want to add more detailed information that would be very welcome. You can cite your papers for the information. Then your papers will show up in the references tab.

Nice! You could put a edit the description of the collection to explain why and when you were here. You can also add dates to each item.

Great idea for a collection! I'm assuming these have to live in the wild for you to count them? I encourage you to write a brief description of the collection and why you are making it.

@Cyndy Parr: Actually, because you didn't leave the comment on the offending object itself, Calphotos may not get the error report. I'll go over to that object and leave your message.

Cyndy Parr commented on "Trogium pulsatorium (Linnaeus, 1758)":

@Stephen Thorpe: Thanks for spotting this! If you are right, looks like it has been misidentified since 2007 here: http://calphotos.berkeley.edu/cgi/img_query?seq_num=221768&one=T. As I'm not an entomologist I'll let Katja fix it or Calphotos may fix it at the source and it will get updated here.
