Miscellaneous Details

"This may be a composite taxon; this issue will only be resolved with a thorough revision of this difficult genus in Asia. Many species of Aciagrion are so similar that there is considerable scope for misidentification, adding to the confusion surrounding this species. For example A. hisopa has been recorded from China (e.g. Needham 1930) but these records are now thought to refer to A. migratum (Sélys, 1876) (see Wilson and Xu 2007). Fraser (1933) included Sri Lanka in the range of this species, but de Fonseka (2000) notes that Fraser's records, based on Laidlaw (1924), probably refer to A. occidentale Laidlaw 1919. Fraser (1921) named A. krishna from India, here treated as a synonym, but treated as a subspecies A. h. krishna by some authors. Lieftinck (1929) described A. aciculare from Java, but subsequently treated this name as a synonym."
