Description of Brevibacillus laterosporus

Previously Bacillus laterosporus, an aerobic spore-forming bacterium characterized by its ability to produce a canoe-shaped lamellar parasporal inclusion adjacent to the spore. Some strains produce crystalline inclusions of various shapes and sizes, which are released separately from spores during lysis of the sporangium. It has the potential to be used as a biological control agent with a very wide spectrum of biological activities - including snails, nematodes and insects
