According to Wilson and Reeder, 3rd edition, Herpestes mungo is now associated with Herpestes edwardsii, not Mungos mungo. (as drawing also indicates, as there are no stripes).

Although parts are correct (and based on the IUCN work), some passages come word-for-word from a popular site about mongooses that unfortunately passes along some of the more anecdotal stories of mongooses as fact. (i.e.,, although mongooses fight cobras, they do not usually eat them). Untrusted mostly because of plagerism.
