Range Description

Neothraupis fasciata occurs in the cerrado of east and south Brazil (south Maranho and Piau south to Minas Gerais and north So Paulo, and west to south Mato Grosso), east Bolivia (Santa Cruz) and north-east Paraguay (recently from single sites in Canindey and San Pedro but historically south to Caaguaz) (Ridgely and Tudor 1989, Hayes 1995, Lowen et al. 1996, R.P.Clay in litt. 2000). It is uncommon to fairly common within suitable habitats.
