Description of Stenocodon

Jakobids, sessile flagellates, two flagella unequal in length, usually with hood around the projecting flagellum in which form the cells closely resemble Histiona. Unhooded cells resemble Ochromonas and similar stramenopiles with which affinities may subsequently be shown to lie. The status of this genus is uncertain. One species.
