Description of Pfiesteria

A dinoflagellate, possibly phytodiniid, life history described as complex, but some elements at least are in error as contaminating species are included; gymnodinioid motile stage is said by some to be highly toxic although the case for this is arguable; does attack damaged fish; rhymes with hysteria.
