Body. Body length 3-5 mm. Body form moderate or robust. Crown and pronotum at most somewhat convex, not arched above eyes. Anterior margin of head without round black spots. Vermiculate color pattern on wings and sometimes head and body present. Predominant coloration brown or fuscous. Bright orange or red coloration absent. Crown with colored maculae, spots, or lines.
Head. Head subequal to or wider than pronotum. Crown not produced, apex not longer than 1.5x length next to eye, flat or convex. Discal portion of crown shagreen. Transition of crown to face rounded. Texture of anterior margin of head shagreen. Frontoclypeus moderately narrow, median length 1.25x to 2x width between antennal pits or long and narrow, median length more than 2x width between antennal pits, not widening abruptly dorsad of antennal pits, texture shagreen. Clypellus widening apically, relatively flat. Lorum subequal to or wider than clypellus near base. Antennal bases near middle or posteroventral (lower) corners of eyes. Antennae short, less than 1.5x width of head. Genae incised laterally. Fine erect seta on gena close to lateral frontal suture. Maxillary sensillum closely adjacent to lorum. Lorum closely adjacent to lower genal margin. Antennal ledges absent. Mesial margin of eye notched. Eye .5x width of crown or wider. Ocelli medium sized to large, close to eyes, less than 1/3 distant from eye to crown apex, on anterior margin, partially visible in dorsal view.
Thorax. Pronotum lateral margin carinate, lateral margin less than 1/2 basal width of eye, with tranverse striations.
Wings. Forewing rounded apically, macropterous, transparent, appendix restricted to anal margin, with 3 anteapical cells, outer anteapical cell rounded or truncate apically, not particularly small, 1st and 2nd apical cells normal, vein R1 diverging basad of R fork, without extra costal veins, without extra crossveins on corium, without extra crossveins in brachial cell, with false veins present in costa or with false veins present in brachial cell or with false veins present in corium, without crossveins between A1 and claval suture or with one crossvein between A1 and claval suture or with 2 or more crossveins between A1 and claval suture, anal veins not strongly curved, meeting commisural margin obliquely, claval cells without definitely delimited transparent or pale opaque spots, A1-A2 crossvein present, inner anteapical cell closed. Hind wing veins R4+5 and M1+2 separated by a crossvein or touching for a very short distance.
Legs. Profemur AM 1 seta near mid-height of femur. Profemur number of intercalary row setae: 10-15 . Profemur row AV with thin, hair-like setae or without setae, AV1 seta poorly differentiated from intercalary row setae. Protibia row AD with one macroseta. Protibia row PD number of macrosetae: 4-5 . Mesotrochanter with one stout apical seta. Metafemur apex penultimate set of macrosetae with 2 setae, antepenultimate set of macrosetae with 1 seta, without extra macrosetae proximal of typical 2+2+1. Metatibia proximal seta of PD distad of proximal seta of AD or equidistant from tibia base, row AD intercalary setae simple, without basal stout setae on dorsal surface, row PD macrosetae subequal in length to AD macrosetae, row PD macrosetae alternating short and long, basal dorsal width subequal to width near apex, pecten with median seta much longer than adjacent setae. Metatarsomere I not expanded apically, plantar setae all simple or plantar setae with one or more platellae. Metatarsomere I pecten: number of platellae 3-4 . Metatarsomere I pecten inner apical seta platelliform or pecten inner apical seta tapered.
Male Genitalia. Valve articulated with pygofer and subgenital plates. Pygofer dorsoapical margin incised to near mid-length, macrosetae well differentiated into several rows, without dense tufts of thick or fine setae, without ventral tooth, spine, or process, with dorsal tooth, spine, or process, posterior margin without teeth or serrations. Segment X not well-sclerotised. Subgenital plates triangular, longer than width, outer margin concave at least in part, or straight, apex digitate, macrosetae uniseriate laterally, without or with few long fine setae. Style preapical lobe prominent; lobate, digitate, or pointed, apophysis shorter than rest of style, apophysis smoothly curved, apophysis apex pointed, apophysis inner (posterior) margin without teeth, apophysis smooth. Aedeagus without processes arising from base, without medial processes or with a pair of medial processes, with one pair of apical processes or with 2 pairs of apical processes, neither compressed nor depressed, flagellum arising from ventral part of socle, symmetrical, moderate to long, gonoduct not sclerotized basad of aedeagal base, gonopore apical, with a single shaft and gonopore, preatrium absent or very short. Phragma sclerotized as a short plate above socle. Connective anterior arms somewhat divergent, (Y- or U-shaped), stem present, longer than anterior arms, articulated with aedeagus, without processes.
Female Genitalia. Pygofer with numerous macrosetae. Ovipositor not protruding far beyond pygofer apex. First valvula convex, dorsal sculpturing pattern concatenate, sculpturing marginal, without or with indistinctly delimited ventroapical sculpturing. Second valvula without dorsal median tooth, teeth on apical 1/3 or more, teeth small, regularly shaped, height approximately equal to length, teeth not serrated.
