Overview

Brief Summary

Introduction

The limits of this genus were recently re-established by Skevington and Yeates (2001). Five valid species are currently treated in Allomethus but some species of Eudorylas may have to be transferred into the genus as regional revisions proceed. Allomethus species are currently known from the Nearctic, Neotropical and Australasian regions.

Discussion of Phylogenetic Relationships

  • Allomethus
    • Allomethus brimleyi
    • Allomethus catharinensis
    • Allomethus mysticus
    • Allomethus rotundicornis
    • Allomethus unicicolis

Support for the genus is weak and it may ultimately need to be considered to be part of Claraeola. A tribal phylogeny of the Eudorylini (Skevington and Yeates, 2001) includes three Allomethus exemplars.
