Range Description

This species is known from Brazil (in the states of Sao Paulo, Mato Grosso, Mato Grosso do Sul, Bahia, and Distrito Federal) and Paraguay (in the state of Amambay). This species is endemic to the central Brazilian Cerrado (Colli et al. 2002). It was thought that the species was probably also found in parts of Bolivia, but taxonomic studies suggest that Bolivian populations may well represent undescribed species, as allopatric speciation may be prevalent in this group of rare and habitat-restricted lizards (Rodrigues et al. 2007, Rodrigues et al. 2008) .
