Range Description

This species is found in So Vicente in the Cape Verde Islands. Within this island it appears to be absent from the region between So Pedro and Mindelo (Schleich 1987). This species is likely to have been introduced to Santo Anto, where it has recently been recorded from Sinagoga, however, this might represent a natural colonization (Vasconcelos et al. 2010). Lpez-Jurado et al. (2005) report this species from Santa Luzia and Branco Islet, but this is unreferenced and is thought likely to be a typographic error (Vasconcelos et al. 2013). It has an estimated extent of occurrence of 151 km2(Vasconcelos et al. 2013).
