This species ranges from southern South Dakota to central Texas, southwest to southeastern Utah and Arizona, southward to Jalisco and Guanajuato, Mexico (Stebbins 2003). Elevational range extends from sea level to around 2,100 m (6,890 feet) (Stebbins 2003).
