Justification
Microlophus yanezi has been assessed as Data Deficient as this species' distribution and habitat preferences are not well known. There are potential threats in the region of its type locality, but it is unknown if these are acting as major threats to the species. Further research is needed on the distribution, habitat and ecology of this species before an accurate assessment of its conservation status can be made.
