A small, slender snake, reaching up to 460 mm. The following is a description of the only available Egyptian specimen: total length = 227 mm; tail 36 mm; tail relatively short, tail / total length = 0.16. Six supralabials, third and fourth enter the eye, 215 ventrals, 67 subcaudals, 15 scale rows around mid-body, anal divided. Dorsum plain, salmon pink;head black; supralabials and rostral white. Venter pinkish white.
