Brief"Body elongate ; distance between end of snout and fore limb contained 1^ to 2 times in distance between axilla and groin in the adult, 1| in the young. Snout short, obtuse. Lower eyelid with an undivided transparent disk. Nostril pierced in the nasal ; no supranasal ; frontonasal broader than long, forming a suture with the rostral and with the frontal ; latter shield as long as the froutoparietals and interparietals together or slightly longer, in contact with the first and second supraoctilars ; 4 supraoculars, second largest ; 6 or 7 gupraciliaiies ; frontoparietals and interparietal distinct, usually subequal ; parietals forming a suture behind the interparietal ; 4 to '5 pairs of nuchals ; fifth upper labial entering the orbit. Ear-opening roundish, a little smaller than the eye-opening, with t\vo projecting granules on its anterior border. 22 or 24 smooth scales round the middle of the body, dorsals largest, laterals smallest. 4 large pra3anals, much longer than broad, pointed behind in the male."
