Range Description

First described from Eritrea, this species is believed to extend southwards into Ethiopia, where it apparently meets the more widely-distributed species A. lineolatus (Jan, 1864). However, the two taxa seem very similar, with the presence of morphological intermediates making it very difficult to define either their distinguishing features or exact geographical ranges (M. Largen pers. comm. 2008). This species has been found between 980 and 2,450 m above sea level.
