Brief Summary
Read full entryApproximately 250 species are known around the world, with the greatest concentration (100 sp.) in the Nearctic region (Braun 1963, Heppner 1991, Seksyayeva 1994). With the notable exception of the most plesiomorphic taxon, the monotypic South African Leucoedemia, nearly all the species are included in the single genus Bucculatrix . The Australian Ogmograptis also has been assigned to this family (Nielsen and Common 1991).
