Zaprionus arduus Collart, 1937 is an Afrotropical species of the drosophilid genus Zaprionus Coquillett, 1902.[1] It belongs to the inermis species group.[2] It resembles Zaprionus indianus Gupta, 1970 in colloration, i.e. reddish yellow thorax and shining yellow abdomen, but lacks profemoral tubercles and spines.[1][2] It is known from Congo and Côte d'Ivoire, and was bred from Musa sp. fruits.[2]
