Zaprionus armatus Collart, 1937 is an Afrotropical species of the drosophilid genus Zaprionus Coquillett, 1902. It belongs to the armatus species group. It is characterized by the presence of a row of simple spines, not fused with bristles at their bases, on the profemur. The aedeagus is short and robust, and lacks a flap. It is known from the Democratic Republic of Congo and Côte d'Ivoire, and was bred from decaying tree trunk of Ficus sp.
