Jamie McMillan commented on "Image of Helophilus pendulus":
Lemon panels even clearer than on the first one, but similar fetaures also indicate trivittatus: 1) yellow above the antennal insertion which shows the same colour as the facial stripe, 2) sharp border of the ocellar triangle and the yellow of the frons very clear on this photo, 3) tergite 3 with clearly black hind margin, 4) very conspicuous grey markings on tergite 4 which are joined. I have also checked this with some UK dipterists who agree.
