Range Description

This species is known only from the unspecified type locality in Eritrea. It is known only from two old specimens, one of which survives. It is possibly closely related to (or even synonymous with) Rana ridibunda. It is also possible that the species is not even native to Eritrea (R. ridibunda having been introduced widely elsewhere in the world), and the specimens were perhaps not even collected in that country, but the amphibian fauna of Eritrea is too poorly known for these issues to be resolved at present. Given the current state of knowledge, it is not possible to map this species' range.
