Description
Perennial herbs, shrubs or trees. Leaves alternate, often crowded at the branch ends. Inflorescence composed of scorpioid cymes arranged in terminal panicles or corymbs. Flowers actinomorphic. Calyx 5-lobed, deeply divided to near the base. Corolla funnel- or salver-shaped; limb 5-lobed. Stamens included. Style terminal; stigma ring-like. Fruit dry, divided into two 2-seeded mericarps.
