Hooks arranged in rings, small, with spinelets.

Retractor muscle slender, equal size, originates very close to the ventral nerve cord.

Spindle muscle originates in the trunk wall anterior to the anus.

A pair of bilobed nephridia.

Small to medium size worms.

Introvert equal to or shorter than the trunk.

Hooks when present are scattered (exception: G. pectinoides and G. elongata has hooks in rings).

Muscle layer continuous.

Tentacular crown around the mouth.

Four retractor muscles.

Contractile vessel without villi.

Spindle muscle not attached to the posterior end of the trunk.

A pair of nephridia.
