Perennial herb, growing from a rhizome with flowering stems up to 1 m. Leaves mostly on the basal part of the stems, imparipinnate with 3-4 pairs of alternate leaflets and a terminal leaflet; Margins serrate. Stipules leaf-like. Stems and leaves with glandular hairs. Inflorescence a terminal spike. Flowers yellow. Fruits crowned with hooked bristles.
