Habitat and Ecology
Rare, only known from a few trees, in semi-deciduous woodland (with Punica protopunica and Croton spp.) on granite slopes in the western Haggeher. Altitude of 1,100 m.

Easily recognized by its 3–5 elliptic leaflets which are glabrous above and by the ca. ten-flowered inflorescences and viscid hairs on the bracts and calyces.

A tree with a very restricted distribution, only known from woodland at one location where it occupies an area of considerably less than 500 km². Exploitation of this woodland is predicted to increase in the next few years leading to a decrease in the quality of its habitat.
