Medium sized (about 50 µm) amoeboid organism living in a tight fitting unstalked siliceous lorica from which branched and granulated pseudopodia arise. With one nucleus. Reported from a freshwater site in Northern Europe, consuming diatoms and other detritus. Type species. C. foreli.
