Heterotrich ciliates, body blunt at posterior; somatic kineties spiralled when body contracts; oral region usually at least 1/2 body length; oral infundibulum shallow; incomplete somatic kineties insert on right of oral region; with huge non-contractile vacuole in posterior that is evacuated by cell contraction
