Terrestrial or epilithic ferns. Rhizome creeping or suberect to erect with non-clathrate scales. Fronds monomorphic, approximate or tufted. Stipe not articulated, often papillose at the base. Lamina pinnate to 3-pinnate, basiscopically developed or not; veins free or anastomosing. Sori superficial, circular, elongate or J-shaped, dorsal on unabbreviated veins, with or without an indusium.
