Restricted occurrence

Pinus nigra subsp. salzmannii has an occurrence that is restricted to limited elevation ranges within the span of 1200 to 2500 meters in height. The taxon is restricted to occurrence in Iberian conifer forests in Spain in that elevation range, along with similar elevation ranges in southern France, northern Italy and parts of western North Africa.
