Range Description

Opuntia triacantha is found in Cuba, Lesser Antilles, Puerto Rico and the and the Unites States Virgin Islands (Hunt et al. 2006). It is estimated occur at elevations from 0 to 10 m, although there is no precise elevation information available. Although the extent of occurrence is approximately 85,000 km2, the area of occupancy is conservatively estimated to be less than 500 km2(G. Gann pers. comm 2011, L. Majure pers. comm. 2011). There are approximately 15 locations.
