Range Description

O. abyssinicum has a curiously disjunct distribution, with populations in Tanzania and Ethiopia (Clayton et al. 2006 onwards, Cope 2007) and Yemen (Cope 2007); it was found relatively recently in shallow seasonal pans in South Africa (Allan et al. 1995) although it has been suggested that these populations may not be native (Phillips 1995).
