Reasons: Southern Florida including Florida Keys, Bahamas, Greater Antilles, and Lesser Antilles south to St. Vincent. Also in southern Mexico and Guatemala. Common to the thickets and woods in the dry coastal and dry limestone regions of southewesten Puerto Rico.
