Range Description

Poa acicularifolia is endemic to the northern half of South Island, New Zealand. The taxon is reported to occur in Marlborough, Canterbury and eastern Nelson (Edgar 1986, Edgar and Connor 2000, New Zealand Plant Conservation Network 2009). Both subspecies are listed as 'Range Restricted' taxa (de Lange et al. 2004) indicating they occupy no more than 100 km2 each.
