Justification
A shrub endemic to Ecuador's southern Andes, where it is known from five subpopulations. Two were recorded in 1984, 27 km north of Oña, in Cuenca province. Three others are from undetermined locales in Loja province. Not known to occur inside Ecuador’s protected areas network, but expected in the Parque Nacional Podocarpus. Apart from habitat destruction, no specific threats are known.
