Justification
A terrestrial herb endemic to Ecuador's southern Andes, where it is known from four collections in a relatively small area in eastern Loja province. The type collection was made on the slopes of Cerro Villonaco, "amongst shrubs in open areas." Not known to occur inside Ecuador’s protected areas network but expected in the Parque Nacional Podocarpus. Apart from habitat destruction, no specific threats are known.
